Following on from the excellent news from the RPRA that training pigeons has now been allowed, the BICC would like to update fanciers in general of our amended program, which is still provisional and based on the Government’s lifting of the Phase 2 restrictions, but in anticipation that racing will be permitted from the first weekend in June. The RPRA have also agreed that permits will be provided for liberations in France and furthermore Brittany Ferries are able to transport our pigeons to France.

At time of going to Press the following marking stations will be functioning and some with extended opening hours. The Welsh based marking stations at Gwent and Chirk are still under restriction until at least May 28th, so again hopefully these restrictions will be lifted by the Devolved Authorities in Wales towards the end of May. The Marking Stations are listed below, with the extended hours shown where applicable. The contact details for the I/C’s are as listed in the BICC Handbook, along with normal operating hours. In order to enter races members must make prior contact with the I/C of the station that they intend visiting a day before marking, to ask for a time slot to visit, and also advise whether ETS or Rubbers, and number of pigeons being sent, thus enabling a steady flow of visitors and preventing both long waits and any potential crowds gathering. Payment for entries must be made by either a BACS transfer beforehand with BICC reference, and advised on race sheet or if this is not possible a cheque on day of basketing. Cash will not be accepted.  All marking stations are being issued with PPE.
