The BICC Committee’s Statement Concerning Drugs

The President, Chairman and indeed the whole committee are concerned at the potential encroachment of drug use within the sport, and wish for the sake of clarity to make it understood that we will continue, as previously, to take samples from pigeons as required and entered in BICC races. Can we draw your attention to both our own domestic rule race rule eleven and also RPRA rule 199; Appendix ‘G’ which strictly forbids the use in pigeons of any of the following: –

ANABOLIC STEROIDS; BETAAGONISTS; CORTICO STERIODS; ANTI-INFLAMMATORY NON-STEROIDS; OPIATES; ANALGESICS; PERFORMANCE ENHANCING STIMULANTS, AND SYNTHETIC HORMONES.

ALSO ANY DRUGS WHICH ARE FOUND TO BE PERFORMANCE-ENHANCING, ALONG WITH ANY SUBSTANCE THAT MAY HAVE BEEN USED IN AN ATTEMPT TO MASK THE ABOVE NAMED SUBSTANCES.
